In anticipation of the Strange Guide to Patchouli, I've been working hard on a suite of new limited edition fragrances and an incense that showcase one of my favorite, and oft-maligned perfume ingredients.
If you like patchouli, then I think you're going to love this study, and if you hate patchouli, I would still encourage you to pick up some samples, because my goal here is to really showcase quality materials and to show you just what patchouli can do.
This study will be available in discounted sets through presale in mid-November. Individual bottles will be for sale in December, and all perfume purchases through this study will come with the Strange Guide to Patchouli for free!
A simple classic that's easy to daydream and challenging to execute. For this blend, I used a premium patchouli essential oil with a gorgeous wood smoke accord and a Madagascar vanilla finish. This blend is all about elevated ingredients and careful proportions.
An exquisite, pure perfect night-blooming jasmine accord with premium patchouli, tonka bean accord, Egyptian red musk and ambergris accord.
The Bells of St. Clements
Orange and lemon essential oils, sing the bells of St. Clements, along with opium, neroli and premium patchouli for a quintessential blend that showcases how patchouli plays with citrus.
Inspired by my wife, Sarah, this blend indulges premium patchouli on its own terms by placing it in its favorite setting: your favorite local head shop. Nag Champa, clove, and cannabis accords create a hazy dream that's so groovy you can practically hear the door chimes.
Patchouli + Heliotrope Incense
This is a revisit of my early limited release of Patchelio - patchouli and heliotrope incense, just with nicer ingredients. I loved the way the patchouli and heliotrope worked together and I'm delighted to bring back this elevated version.
